The moment when you car battery dies your car will be dead, because its provides electricity for door lock, sliding windows, lights and other car accessories. Buying a wrong sized battery is loss of money and even that will cause damage to the car, so its great to know that same size battery for all cars. Second Hand Cars

Harvey, thanks for your comment and for your linked references supporting your belief that "electric vehicles can actually be worse than driving gas-poowered vehicles. My idea uses solar panels to produce electricity to charge the batteries and no other source. While I appreciate your linked reference, the article to which it points speaks to countries like China that use fossil fuels to produce electricity. I'm against that. It's the specific reason my idea would use solar farms. The farms would be located on-site, at the swap stations. And remember too that this is not only 100% clean energy, it's an appreciable job creator.

Innovative cars must now help us on how we are going to protect our environment. Electric cars need electricity to drive and producing all that electricity can offset any environmental benefit the vehicles are believed to provide. Powering electric vehicles can actually be worse than driving gas-powered vehicles. You may also read further: http://www.cardealexpert.com/news-information/fyi/envrionmental-electric-vehicles/

You make a leap of faith unfounded, sorry to say so. In the first place, electric cars are the future because oil has no future. It is not a matter of whether we like electric cars or not but rather that we are faced with either perfecting some other fuel (like hydrogen) or taking what we can get. In the second place, electricity generated from solar panels does not create the toxicity to the environment that fossil fuels do, but once again, even if it did, it is something we have to overcome because there is no more oil. It's gone. It's not about whether we want to drive electric cars or not, it's what we've been left with as a result of using up our oil (or most of it).
