Overview: Through the use of a special additive produced from waste plant material, human waste can be made to release pure hydrogen gas which can be immediately run through a fuel cell to produce electricity and pure water. The waste product, after composting, is then used as a soil additive.

Thanks for the comment by GPT! I hadn't realized that my idea was mentioned in Gizmag. Thanks for the link and good luck with your ideas.

Lol, you guys are putting me on? The toilet would be no different from the normal toilet you have in your bathroom. The hydrogen is produced in a separate composting chamber where it is immediately routed to a fuel cell to produce electricity and water. Hahaha, thanks for your support. I can assure you the science behind the concept is sound :)

im curious, how do you get to the toilet part if its sitting on a generator? wouldnt that be a little tippy? i like the concept. Would be one hell of a conversation piece sitting in the barn thats for sure

THIS THING IS A GENERATOR YOU CAN CRAP IN TO POWER SOMETHING???--COOL, I WANT ONE

Hey your kids might be on to something there :) Yea, you wouldn't notice any difference in your bathroom. All the action happens in a separate chamber beneath the actual commode so you just go about your business as usual and the device does the rest. I can understand the joking due to the subject matter. :)) Did you know that when toilets where first invented people were very resistant to buying them? They thought it would be unsanitary to go to the bathroom inside of their home so they preferred to do it in a hole in the ground in their backyard instead. Thankfully progress has changed things for the better and now perhaps it's time for more progress.

hahahah Now that is a funny set of comments. My kids use to say i could fart into a pipe in the seat and run the truck on the gas! Now you folks come up with a generator i can crap in to run my house! now thats pretty darn smart!

Haha, well the idea is to provide a double benefit. Reduce water usage and energy use associated with waste treatment used by the current system, and to produce useful energy, water and fertilizer. Whether you like it or not you are producing this waste anyway. May as well use it ! This system will take something that is currently an environmental detractor and energy consumer and turn it into an energy producing environmentally beneficial product.

boy am i glad you clarified that last comment about crapping into your generator., hahahaha,,,i could just read the surgeon generals warning on your machine, " no smoking on the toilet!!---CONTAINS HYDROGEN ,))

Well actually it's a novel way of generating hydrogen that is very clean and sanitary. You will not have to "crap into a generator" :) The idea uses what is now a waste product and creates pure hydrogen gas, pure H2O, electricity, and fertilizer through a chemically enhanced composting process. For certain installations such as remote locations, farms, developing nations, ships and even space craft this type of system would be a great boon. Producing fuel, power, water and fertilizer from waste, whilst using no water or conventional plumbing. A system like this is key to creating a self contained, self sustaining environment.
