Name: WINDGRABBER
Location: Rimrock, Arizona
Overview: FIXED COPULA WINDGRABBER WIND TURBINES
SUMMARY OF IDEA
WINDGRABBER FIXED COPULA Wind Turbines use differential pressures created from the wind around homes to produce power via screened-in enclosures that only allow the wind to flow through them in one direction, regardless of which direction the wind approaches.

Well guys.
GE has told us what they think of small wind - especially roof top / integrated home based small wind! Its a matter of inadequate wind resources available at home roof top levels to make it ever pay off in GE's, et al, large wind turbine suppliers' opinion. Tall office buildings? Well, we'll see. Personnally, I believe that there is a market for home based wind systems in the right locations with the right wind turbine designs being fully integrated into the home or outbuilding type structures so as to make them pay off for some people. If it can be offered as part of a home purchase and included in the home mortgage payment with high system reliablilty and performance, I think people will eventually buy it in competition with roof top solar. And permitting should not be a problem!
Personnaly, I'm moving on with WINDGRABBER as the interest 'grabs' me. I hope others will also. Eventually, someone will get it right; and the cost of ever rising conventional electricity generation will eventually justify it. We're just ahead of our time!
By the way, the WINDGRABBER ducted wind turbine system can use most anybody's small wind turbine, whether its of radial, mixed or axial flow design. And at anywhere between ~100 watts to 50 kWe ratings at 28 mph (12.5 m/s) rated wind velocity.
If anybody's interested, please let me know.
Cheers all! Bye!

The HEXAGANOL Sided, One-Way-Flow Enclosure Cube Pilot Plant electrical check out and start up are complete!
Power output appears to be where predicted it would be. Break away wind speed varied between about 7 mph and 16 mph depending on the pulley ratio used between the wind turbine and the alternator.
Unfortunately, I think I managed to zap my alternator while learning how to set it up, so testing is suspended until I can order and install a new one!

For the record, my December, 2005 provisional patent application, which subsequently became a part of my December 2006 non-provisional patent application - now a granted patent, states as follows: " ...WINDGRABBER conceals more conventional, high visibility wind turbines (normally mounted on towers) within and/or on top of more conventional and acceptable building type structures (new or existing) while making wind-air turbines more useable for the production of cheap, environmentally friendly and useful power from the available wind." Some of the figures in the original provisional patent application also go on to show various arrangements of how this is done with dampers, curtains or shutters and with winds coming from all directions. Copies of these documents were mentioned and provided to GE as part of my various entries back in January of this year, as well as in September of last year. Earlier documents also published by the patent holder also describe these features for WINDGRABBER.

I guess he feels he already won the popularity contest and could stop blogging.

When are we supposed to hear anything about who is still in contention after the contest stops tonight? Does anybody know?

Someone told me that if you want the wind to stop blowing at your home, you install a wind turbine system. Garanteed to make the wind stop blowing for at least a month!
