Living in the digital age provides amazing opportunities. Global communication, creativity, and information sharing have been radically transformed. But, with global energy consumption forecast to triple by 2050, our energy infrastructure needs to take advantage of new digital technologies to be able to meet this rapid growth in demand. We are using more energy every day and the grid needs to catch up.

Digitizing our energy grid is the first step, allowing us to make better use of the resources we already have, and integrate new ones as they become available. This is critical because our current energy infrastructure will not be able to continue to reliably provide enough affordable energy as demand increases. As more and more consumers also become producers of energy, and more consumers become smarter about how and when they use energy, our energy grid must rise to the challenge.
