Congratulations on your successful completion of the first round of the GE challenge! We are now in the second round; the period of judging and results. Your idea will contribute to the transformation of energy sector.

In the “Connect” category, GE is seeking breakthrough ideas to improve grid efficiency by three means: reducing losses, reducing voltage and improving system reliability. I will take these three solutions one by one.

First, delivery losses occur due to the complexity of the grid. The grid consists of several energy sources which are interconnected. This complex interconnectivity which also includes a grid-tie inverter (that converts DC power from the grid to AC power) contributes to the reduction of the expected capacity of the grid. The grid capacity needs to be freed up. The solution to these losses is by using an off-grid photovoltaic array which operates independently; it is not connected to other energy sources or the grid. It is more efficient. It has its own simple stand-alone inverter, rechargeable storage battery (to serve during off-peak periods) and a charge controller (to prevent the battery from overcharging).

Second, over-delivery of energy is a technical phenomenon associated with grid-related systems. It occurs due to increase in power drawn from the grid. This makes consumers or subscribers to the grid pay for unused energy; they usually pay a higher rate. The solution to this is by using an off-grid photovoltaic array because it has a fixed or rated capacity and output; it is not interfered by other energy sources. This solution is economical because consumers do not have to pay for bills or overcharged bills.

Third, system unreliability results from power outages due to poor identification and isolation of faults. These faults affect the entire system and may lead to power outage of a city or a larger region. The solution to this is by using off-grid photovoltaic arrays because it can easily be maintained and faults can easily be detected. Even if faults were not detected on time, the power outage would only affect a single building or premises and not an entire city.

Please, critically analyze and comment on my idea: “off-grid photovoltaic arrays.” From your opinion, is my idea feasible? Will it potentially make a significant impact on the global energy challenges we face?

Thanks and good luck.

It was recently suggested that I check out the GE Ecomagination Challenge to search for potential products that would compliment/enhance our package. I am impressed with what GE has created and amazed at the number of entries and hope to succeed in my quest.

As you read the following, ask yourself if we belong together as a team and should discuss joining forces.

Product Introduction:
We have successfully introduced several new construction products in the United States. This includes three from foreign countries that needed to be taken through the required American test services before they could be introduced here.
Sales:
Though we had one of the smallest licensed territories for several construction related products, we were always in the top 5 in sales. In one case, we were #1 in the world. We have design/built projects all over the world including some in the Pacific that have withstood winds in the 200 mph range. Another innovative project is a commercial building in one of the wettest and coolest parts of the world that has no connections to a utility company and is now the standard system in that area.
Innovation:
Virtually every one of our innovations has come at the request of a client or our government for a solution to their needs. As a result, we now have patents and patents pending for transformational construction systems and renewable energy systems I was honored to be selected as one of the delegates to The World Focus on Housing Conference: China. The Chinese Consulate General then came to our town to take me to breakfast to try to persuade me to bring our systems to China. I have been vetted 8 times by officials from Masdar City relative to my coming there to join their team as a manager. I just received a phone call from Jeddah relative to my forming a team to come to Saudi Arabia to build 1 million low-cost homes by 2015.
Renewables:
We have developed a BIPV system that is projected to provide electricity at or below grid parity depending upon location in the world and cost less than anything on the market today.
EcoHomes/EcoBuildings:
We currently have in R&D a patented transformational construction system that because of its unique composition can not be reverse engineered. It will produce structures to duplicate most plans and decors yet is projected to cut the cost in half. At the same time, tests show these structures surviving the worst that Mother Nature can throw at them beyond what any current building could survive.

After the Challenge is over and you believe we should work together, please send the proof to Solergon@gmail.com . Thank You.

Again I get in touch with you this amazing contest participant developed by GE to ask once again the votes of those not yet voted on my main idea is that: I intend to use a stirling engine to use the gas produced in gasifier biomass and capture the carbon dioxide emitted in a chemical reaction that will produce fertilizer. I struggle to try to develop here in northern Brazil where more than 3 million people have no access to electricity and all its benefits. I know that everyone is fighting for his ideas and therefore once again ask your support as necessary to help these people improve their living conditions, and the reduction of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere in power generation
Good luck to all in the final,

Hi Dear
Wish all the best for your Eco friendly idea. Please check my concept at - http://challenge.ecomagination.com/ct/ct_a_view_idea.bix?c=ideas&idea_id=6196F5FE-5D7A-4196-8238-99E6D4B2D636 and don't forget to vote & support.
Yes, if you wish to discuss on my green & zero emission multi Mega Watt electricity (No No No….it’s not free energy) concept in all terrain!! Truly a new & more sustainable way, and could next to other good green energy source are in use. Come on, we are in challenge with our different ideas!!!
Please feel free to ask any related question if any.
Thanks and Regards.
GOOD LUCK AND BEST WISHES FOR YOUR IDEAS! TO BE IN THIS CHALLENGES IS ALREADY A WINNER! LET’S ALL GREAT,REALISTIC,COST EFFICIENT, AND ALL IDEAS WITH GREAT IMPACT BE UNITED AND IMMEDIATELY IMPLEMENTED TO MAKE IT A REALITY FOR THE FUTURE OF OUR CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN AND OUR BELOVED PLANET EARTH!

Interesting idea,
You have my support, I would also appreciate your vote to help increase the awareness to our concept.
Please check out my idea for a new way to capture solar power on the water surface with added benefit of improving the water quality, at:

Hi,
All ideas are here with various merits and we all are responsible to make change the way of power we live. You are right, till date we are drawing power from Grid, and I have a strong hope to power the grid after / along with our uses. My Idea is a new way to generate multi Mega Watt power, further more, you can count this concept other than wind and solar etc. My concept is as powerful as a hydro project. I have small individual version for Killo Watt consumers and accordingly, I have a full new series of zero emission electricity generating products and projects, and suitable for any terrain, any country, any city, any village, low cost.....etc. Please ask if you have some more questions related to my idea/concept. http://challenge.ecomagination.com/ct/ct_a_view_idea.bix?c=ideas&idea_id=6196F5FE-5D7A-4196-8238-99E6D4B2D636
I am looking for more support to create power from a new synchronized and powerful source. It also would multi-beneficial way for socioeconomic growth.
Thanks and Regards.
I believe that my idea under "Windmill Causeway" solves alot of what you speak. It is the ROW and the politics that will stand in the way of it. But because this causeway is going to be built (TXDOT PHASE 3 RMA"S) which means GE can own 3 to 5 miles of what was to be only a toll road is now a Boulder Dam. We all could use are ideas to build an DC green Emerald City at one end and sell the AC back to the grid. Which is also built into the grid. Texas has been looking for a GE to do this and I think a vote for the windmill causeway is a vote for all.
