Name: Cyclone-WHE
Location:
Category: Create: Renewables
Overview: US industry wastes enough heat to power 80+ million homes. Let’s recycle WASTE HEAT from the exhaust of furnaces, flares and engines nationwide to run 21st century STEAM powered, grid-tied electric generators. Cyclone Power Technologies makes renewable, ZERO EMISSIONS electricity in this way today – WHE/Generation. http://www.cyclonepower.com/whe.html

Congratulations on your high placement in the GE Ecomagination Challenge. Like your concept, the Skylight PP-CPV from Clean Legacy and prolific Inventor John L. Coulson also finished respectably in the Challenge. For all of us at Clean Legacy and I suspect for many of our fellow Challengers, this experience is now paying off in ways we only imagined. Thanks GE! Hits on our website @ www.webstarts.com/IamInventor and emails to IamInventing@gmail.com with requests for more info and offers to join our project have been exceptional since joining the Challenge. We hope to see you in November or perhaps sooner. If we can be of any assistance to you and your project please do not hesitate to drop us an email. Best regards and success to you all! Cheers! - JLC - Founder/Inventor - The Clean Legacy Group - IamInventing@gmail.com

Congratulations on your successful completion of the first round of the GE challenge! We are now in the second round; the period of judging and results. Your idea will contribute to the transformation of energy sector.
In the “Connect” category, GE is seeking breakthrough ideas to improve grid efficiency by three means: reducing losses, reducing voltage and improving system reliability. I will take these three solutions one by one.
First, delivery losses occur due to the complexity of the grid. The grid consists of several energy sources which are interconnected. This complex interconnectivity which also includes a grid-tie inverter (that converts DC power from the grid to AC power) contributes to the reduction of the expected capacity of the grid. The grid capacity needs to be freed up. The solution to these losses is by using an off-grid photovoltaic array which operates independently; it is not connected to other energy sources or the grid. It is more efficient. It has its own simple stand-alone inverter, rechargeable storage battery (to serve during off-peak periods) and a charge controller (to prevent the battery from overcharging).
Second, over-delivery of energy is a technical phenomenon associated with grid-related systems. It occurs due to increase in power drawn from the grid. This makes consumers or subscribers to the grid pay for unused energy; they usually pay a higher rate. The solution to this is by using an off-grid photovoltaic array because it has a fixed or rated capacity and output; it is not interfered by other energy sources. This solution is economical because consumers do not have to pay for bills or overcharged bills.
Third, system unreliability results from power outages due to poor identification and isolation of faults. These faults affect the entire system and may lead to power outage of a city or a larger region. The solution to this is by using off-grid photovoltaic arrays because it can easily be maintained and faults can easily be detected. Even if faults were not detected on time, the power outage would only affect a single building or premises and not an entire city.
Please, critically analyze and comment on my idea: “off-grid photovoltaic arrays.” From your opinion, is my idea feasible? Will it potentially make a significant impact on the global energy challenges we face?
Thanks and good luck.

So far I have contributed nothing.
I have challenged your efforts or you.
I voted for you, though… Now kindly
Do vote for my project, too.
My effort does not compete,
It’s meant to magnify yours,
While honoring the efforts of GE
And changing Energy’s course.
My project can well propel yours
Into the sky and the blue.
Just click on this link and then vote.
Perhaps some of your dreams will come true.
PLEASE VOTE FOR ME AT:

Hourly Voting Statistics for top entrants available for download:
Only a day and a half left in the voting and while it is generally understood that GE will not be making its decisions solely based on any vote counts some entrants continue to “stuff the ballot boxes”. It is a shame that very good ideas are marred by questionable vote counts.
The voting continues to result in many incongruities, especially from a few of the top ranked ideas. ( Nextek Power, Intelligent E-station,). There are also ideas that have come up up very fast in the ranking that are obviously suspicious. (Solar Energy Collector).
How does an entrant receive only a few votes in a 24 hour period and then receive 250 votes in a half hour?

That is a great way to generate energy. Heat = Energy. But Waste Heat = low cost energy. Nice product. You have my vote.
I have uploaded a concept idea "Low power self health communicating, smart Grid components for a smarter grid for the future." If you like the idea please do vote.

Again I get in touch with you this amazing contest participant developed by GE to ask once again the votes of those not yet voted on my main idea is that: I intend to use a stirling engine to use the gas produced in gasifier biomass and capture the carbon dioxide emitted in a chemical reaction that will produce fertilizer. I struggle to try to develop here in northern Brazil where more than 3 million people have no access to electricity and all its benefits. I know that everyone is fighting for his ideas and therefore once again ask your support as necessary to help these people improve their living conditions, and the reduction of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere in power generation
