Today marks the official close of GE’s ecomagination Challenge: Powering Your Home, and the beginning of our journey to select five innovation award winners from the 800+ entries we’ve received over the last eight weeks as well as the 1,000+ home ideas uncovered from the first Challenge.
Though “Powering Your Home” has closed, the power of the Community – nearly 71,000 members strong – will continue. We know you still have ideas and perspectives to share, so let’s keep the conversation going on this blog and on the ideas pages.
Two of you are having a collaborative dialogue which is worth highlighting here: James Post, inventor of the SmartWind Roofblaster has forged a partnership with fellow Challenge entrant Shawn Buckley, inventor of the Lowcost Linear Fresnel PV Concentrator. This move signifies the collaboration of two of the Challenge’s top 10 most popular innovators.
James and Shawn’s new partnership exemplifies a promising solution, yes, but also the hub we have created together for clean tech entrepreneurs to meet and catalyze new ideas.
While our call for innovation award submissions has ended, the opportunities for innovation are endless. We hope you’ll continue to engage, comment and collaborate, and stay tuned for judging results in April.
